Cheyenne, two days after
being burned

In early November
2003, dangerous destructive wildfires swept through Southern
California. A herd of 6 horses owned and deeply loved by Jeralyn and
Darrel Koupal were very severely burned. One horse, Kiowa, was burned
on over 60% of his body. Joe and Sharon Goodman offered their ranch in
Somis, California beginning a several months long rescue effort by two
veterinarians and many volunteers to save the horses.
